Daat provides accreditation to alternative schools globally. We do not dictate which curriculum schools should adopt. Instead, we advocate for academic freedom and uphold the rights of parents and students to select the educational program that meets their needs.

A Certificate of Accreditation issued by Daat does not constitute an evaluation or endorsement of an applicant program’s curriculum, instructional staff, or educational philosophy. Instead, the accreditation confirms that the program’s stated conditions and advertising claims regarding its location and operations have been verified—that is, the program is accurately represented and operates as described. Determining whether an accredited program is appropriate or suitable for a particular learner remains the responsibility of the consumer.

Accreditation Process

Our accreditation process is targeted and flexible. It allows your school to obtain accreditation while maintaining your unique identity.

To begin the accreditation process:

  1. Submit an Application for Accreditation

A school seeking accreditation must first complete an Application for Accreditation, accompanied by an application fee of $250.00. The application includes information including but not limited to:

  • School's history, mission, vision, and leadership structure

  • Educational Programs

  • Methods of Delivery

  • Enrollment Data

  • Financial Resources

  • Physical Resources

  • Compliance with all local regulations for operating as a private school

  • A three-year plan for ongoing school improvement

  1. Committee Review

Daat board members will evaluate the application and all accompanying information to determine if the applicant school qualifies for an on-site visit. This review process generally takes 30 and 60 days.

  2. In-Person School Evaluation

Upon approval, Daat board members will conduct an on-site evaluation of the applicant school to confirm the accuracy of the submitted information and assess compliance with local health and safety standards. The on-site visit is an opportunity to observe daily life at the school, and offer meaningful feedback to achieve the goals developed in their three-year plan.

  3. Initial Annual Dues and Final Approval

Following a successful in-person evaluation, the applicant school will receive a Certificate of Accreditation. Membership commences upon final approval and the payment of initial dues, with accreditation granted for a duration of three consecutive school years.

Accreditation Fees

Application fee $250.00 (non-refundable)

Accreditation fee $300.00 Paid every three years.

On-site visit fee

Several factors are considered when setting fees for on-site-visit, including the number of days required for a thorough in-person evaluation by Daat. On-site visit fees will be determined in accordance to travel fees.
